Vikings’ Bryant McKinnie Signs on with Momentum Sports PR
Left Tackle Excited About Upcoming Season
Minneapolis, MN, August 08, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Minnesota Vikings left tackle, Bryant McKinnie has signed on with Miami-based public relations firm, Momentum Sports PR.
A first round draft pick by the Vikings in 2002 (7th overall), this will be McKinnie’s sixth NFL season. After a breakthrough season in 2005 in which he earned an alternate spot on the NFC’s Pro Bowl roster, McKinnie battled through 2006 with a broken hand. In order to keep intact what has been called “one of the most formidable left sides in the league,” the Vikings quickly signed McKinnie to a seven year contract extension prior to the 2007 season. Referred to as “one of the league’s emerging players,” McKinnie is looking forward to the season ahead.
A graduate of the University of Miami, McKinnie was part of the 2001 Hurricane’s National Championship team. He was named All-American in 2000 and 2001 and finished 8th overall in voting for the 2001 Heisman Trophy. Known as “the impenetrable one,” McKinnie did not allow a sack during his entire college career and was honored as the best interior lineman in college football with Outland Trophy in 2001.
While in training camp this month, the 6’8” 335 lb McKinnie will be keeping a journal of his first hand experiences during preseason to give fans an inside look at what training camp is really like on and off the practice field. McKinnie’s entries can be found on the Minnesota Vikings official team page, www.vikings.com.
