Phoenix Arising Aviation Academy Partners with Groupon Grassroots to sponsor a Flight-Training Summer Camp, an initiative to extend advanced learning opportunities to economically disadvantaged students.
Austin, TX, March 17, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Today Phoenix Arising and Groupon Grassroots (http://grassroots.groupon.com), the philanthropic arm of Groupon, announce the launch of a local campaign to ignite a passion for hands-on math, science and technology learning opportunities for local students.
The Flight-Training Summer Camp campaign will be available on the Austin Groupon Grassroots page beginning on Thursday, March 14 and running through Wednesday, March 20. Utilizing Groupon Grassroots’ collective action model, Groupon subscribers can pledge support for the Flight-Training Summer Camp initiative in increments of $10.00 with each 20 donations sponsoring two Austin-area students from low-income families to participate in the flight-training summer camp.
“We’re excited to leverage the collective action model of Groupon Grassroots to raise support to change perspectives for underserved and underprivileged students,” said Zay Collier, Executive Director. “We look forward to creating new awareness for Phoenix Arising Aviation Academy as one of the local organizations in Austin to be featured on Groupon Grassroots.”
One hundred percent of the Groupon Grassroots campaign proceeds will be used to provide camp scholarships, including equipment, project supplies, and learning resources for the students.
