Royal India Celebrates Holi Festival of Color with Color Bindis, Performances and Special Menu
The Downtown and Del Mar locations will observe the holiday and invite the public to celebrate on Saturday, March 30th.
San Diego, CA, March 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- If you’re looking for color this spring, Royal India Restaurant has got you covered: The restaurant voted “Best Indian 2012” by San Diego Magazine and “Most Romantic” by CitySearch, invites San Diegans to join in the celebration of Holi: the Indian Festival of Color, with special festivities at its two restaurant locations.
On Saturday, March 30th, Co-Owners Sam and Jag Kambo are pleased to once again bring the Holi celebration to Royal India Downtown and Del Mar. From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Royal India will offer a special, 4-course celebratory menu, complete with vibrant-colored cocktails, colorful bindis (Indian forehead art) for each guest, traditional bellydancing and festive décor.
“Every year, we’re so delighted to welcome our customers and community to our restaurant to celebrate one of our favorite, most colorful, holidays of the year,” said Sam Kambo. “With a new location in Del Mar, we now have two places for guests to experience the Festival of Holi and ring in spring with all the vibrant colors it brings.”
The Holi festival commemorates the victory of good over evil, brought about by the burning and destruction of the demoness, named Holika. This was enabled through unwavering devotion to the Hindu god of preservation, Lord Vishnu.
Holi got its name as the "Festival of Colors" from Lord Krishna, a re-incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who liked to play pranks on the village girls by drenching them in water and colors.
Royal India Downtown is Located at 329 Market Street and 4th in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter. Royal India Del Mar is located at 3860 Valley Center Drive in Del Mar, San Diego.
