Sportscasting Job Web Sites Offer New Joint Resume Service

David Brody's Broadcaster Marketing Services and Dave Benz of Sportscastingjobs.com have announced a partnership to offer clients on-line multimedia resumes in a database from which they can be submitted immediately to open sportscasting positions. The combined service is offering a free one-month trial of the new site before AUGUST 19.

Denver, CO, August 10, 2007 --(PR.com)-- With hundreds of sports broadcasters applying for any open media position in the United States, timing is crucial. Looking to give aspiring on-air talent an edge over the competition, Birmingham-based Broadcaster Marketing Services (BMS) has joined Denver-based Sportscastingjobs.com to provide clients with an on-line, multi-media resume database. Broadcasters can use the fully automated site to post their own audio and video samples of their work and have them submitted immediately to any open position fitting their specified criteria.

“Sports media is a fast-paced industry with a lot of turnover - positions open and are filled quickly,” said BMS President, David Brody. “This service allows our clients to get their resume into the right hands as soon as we hear of an opening and assures their best and most current work will be showcased to employers.”

Sportscastingjobs.com/BMS is offering a free, one-month trial period of their on-line resume service. Broadcasters can sign up anytime before August 19th at www.sportscastingjobs.com/resumes.asp. Up to 100mb of audio and video files can be posted for one month on the client’s personal resume page. After 30 days, broadcasters can continue the service for $9.99/month. Longer subscriptions can be purchased for $7.00/month.

Once the resume has been created, it is posted on both www.sportscastingjobs.com and www.sportsbroadcastingcoach.com. When a job is posted meeting selected criteria, the resume is immediately submitted without the broadcaster having to mail a single audition tape.

“These on-line, multi-media resumes help ease the fear of missing out on a dream job because you could not get your audition tape out in time,” Brody explained. “With this service, once the job has posted, you have already applied for it without lifting a finger.”

One other interesting wrinkle to the service allows users to designate their resume page as “Private.” Such users are given a unique URL for their resume page which they can distribute at their own discretion.

“It’s no secret folks are always looking to move up in our industry. This unique feature allows users to still utilize the service without the fear of their current employer knowing they might be looking," Sportscastingjobs.com President Dave Benz said.

While that feature is clearly designed with the job seeker in mind the Multi-Media database will actually benefit Radio PD’s and TV News Directors as well.

“Now hiring managers can simply log on to the database and gain instant access to numerous candidates when they are looking to find a new talent,” Benz added. “It’s one stop shopping for both the job seeker and the employer.”
