Pulse Energy and Customers Take the Lead for Earth Hour

Vancouver, Canada, March 25, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Pulse Energy, energy intelligence software developer for utilities and their commercial customers, commemorated its sixth year of active involvement with the global Earth Hour movement.

Three BC organizations in particular worked with Pulse Energy to reduce their energy consumption by 15.3% during Saturday night’s Earth Hour, representing another successful year of widespread action. Vancouver City Hall saved an impressive 22%, the Royal BC Museum 18%, and Library Square 6%. Over the course of a year, if Canada were to reduce its electricity consumption by just 5% that would result in almost $2 billion of avoided energy costs to consumers and significant environmental benefits.

This year’s achievements highlight the City of Vancouver’s selection as Global Earth Hour Capital by the World Wildlife Fund, together with national and People’s Choice awards. These distinctions were in large part due to Vancouver’s Greenest City 2020 Action Plan, which encourages sustainable municipal practices and green private-sector employers such as Pulse Energy.
