Lynnette Scofield Awarded “Innkeeper of the Year” by Select Registry
Ithaca, NY, March 27, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Lynnette Scofield, owner of The William Henry Miller Inn, was awarded “Innkeeper of the Year” by the Select Registry of Distinguished Inns of North America. Her award from the Select Registry acknowledges her success and professional achievements.
"The day that we were accepted as a member property of Select Registry was a remarkable day to be in the company of such prestigious properties. So this award is just amazing to me! Never would it have been possible without the dedicated staff that we have and my business partner who have all encouraged me to participate in our community,” said Scofield.
The William Henry Miller Inn, located in the heart of downtown Ithaca, represents the quintessential Bed and Breakfast, offering affordable rates and magnificent rooms. Scofield, a member of the Select Registry, was nominated by her fellow members for this peer recognition award. An independent panel of hospitality professionals reviews the recommendations and determines the top candidate based on a point system. Scofield was chosen as the winner amongst over 400 Select Registry members all around the United States and Canada.
As a leader in her community for many years, Scofield is associated with many organizations including the United Way of Tompkins County; co-founder of Animeals, a food pantry for pets; co-chair of the 2012/2013 United Way Annual Campaign, Hospicare; and Advisory Council Member for the History Center and Sciencenter in Ithaca, NY. On a national level she serves on the Board of PAII (Professional Association of Innkeepers) and is Vice Chair of The Innkeeping Foundation.
In her spare time Scofield enjoys watching Cornell Ice Hockey and serving as member of the Coaches Circle at Cornell University Hockey. She is one of the authors of “Eight Broads in the Kitchen,” a recipe website created by eight innkeepers.
Combining both the beautiful features of the 1880 home and present day amenities, The William Henry Miller Inn has often been referred to as the show piece of downtown Ithaca New York. The William Henry Miller Inn is located at 303 North Aurora at East Buffalo and is in close proximity to downtown Ithaca, Cornell University, Ithaca College and Cayuga Lake.
