The Apsolute II Thermal Inkjet Printer

Welwyn Garden City, United Kingdom, March 28, 2013 --(PR.com)-- As the UK distributor for the APS range of TIJ printers and inks, Rotech have recently taken delivery of their first Apsolute II printers which have a number of significant new innovations.

The Apsolute II Controller

All systems start with a standard Apsolute II controller to which upgrade packs can be added as follows:

- Software Pack. Adds the capability to print:
True Type fonts. These can be uploaded and used at almost any integer point size.
Bitmaps (logos, graphics etc)
Barcodes including Datamatrix

- Group Pack. Required if More than two heads are required or Print is to be in more than one "group"

Printheads and Cartridges

Three printhead designs are available: Standard, low profile (top connection) and low profile (front connection) to allow mounting in even the tightest of spaces

Innovative "Smart Chip" Cartridge which offers the following benefits:
- Automatic detection of ink grade and auto load of correct driver
- Automatic detection of the cartridge, so preventing unprinted product if the cartridge has been removed
- Automatic ink level control with volume remaining written to chip on cartridge so maintaining monitoring of ink levels even if cartridges are swapped around

Two heads can even me mounted side by side with an auto changeover function permitting continued operation even during cartridge changes.

Ink formulations

The launch of Apsolute II sees a new ink launched in each of the water based and alcohol based ranges as follows:

WC51BK. Water Based ink with superb print darkness, print clarity and de-cap time
EC17BK. Alcohol based ink with excellent print clarity and de-cap properties

They are really keen to build the installed base of these new machines, so, for all shipments made before the end of April 2013 they will be offering a free starter pack of 5 ink cartridges.
