QUBYX Launches a New Version of DICOM Calibration and QA Software for Mac
New Mac version of PerfectLum calibration and quality control application has been released.
Wilmington, DE, March 28, 2013 --(PR.com)-- QUBYX has announced a major update of its DICOM calibration software for Mac OS. PerfectLum 3.5 for Mac features a number of usability and functionality improvements, enabling radiology practitioners to use Mac-based machines for diagnostics and medical image viewing.
“A big share of medical imaging pros are using or would like to use Mac machines and displays for diagnostic imaging. However, most PACS and DICOM calibration products on the market are Windows-based, which is somewhat limiting,” says Marc Leppla, Director of QUBYX. “We have developed PerfectLum Mac to meet the needs of these users, and have been working hard on its constant improvement.”
PerfectLum software features calibrations and quality assurance tests to major standards in medical imaging, such as DICOM, AAPM TG18, DIN 6868-157, and others. Supporting hardware calibration and DDC/CI communication, PerfectLum achieves DICOM-compliant image quality even on consumer-grade monitors. The history and reports feature allows keeping track of display maintenance, as the detailed reports for each calibration and QA test can be exported and printed. Task scheduling serves to remind the user of planned calibrations and conformance checks. Due to the free Remote Management system PerfectLum is offered with, a network of multiple medical displays can be maintained from a single location, making display QA procedures more time- and cost-efficient.
New version 3.5 offers even better hardware compatibility: the software now supports the new Dell UltraSharp U3014, U2713h, U2413 displays with internal LUT. The quality of calibration and ICC profile generation has been increased. In addition to that, PerfectLum 3.5 Mac has a number of user interface improvements and fixes, such as customizable reports with a possibility to include company logos, enhanced preferences UI, and many others.
The upgrade from PerfectLum 3.0 is free and easy. The users of the previous version just need to download the update from http://www.perfectlum.com/downloads and install it. The software will keep all preferences and history data. For new users, a free demo version is available on the above mentioned download page.
