Dr. Blumenthal has over 31 years experience in the food science field. He is President of Libra Laboratories/Libra Technology Center, LLC which is an international industrial science, technology and process development laboratory that provides art and application of quantitative methods of analysis to solve everyday real world formulation, processing and distribution issues primarily in the food healthcare industries. Dr. Blumenthal is responsible for the research, analysis, development, consulting and manufacturing of specialty chemicals and kits. He oversees chemical, microbiological and materials projects for pharma, food service, personal care and cosmetics, fuel energy and packaging industries and provides technical and laboratory support for engineering and manufacturing companies. He is also the founder, owner and leader/creative scientist of Test Kit Technologies, Inc. and Gantt Systems, Inc. Dr. Blumenthal provides forensic consulting and serves as an expert witness. He was awarded IFT Distinguished Lecturer, IFT Stephen S. Chang Award, 2001 and AOCS Stephen S. Chang Award, 2001. He has 100 publications. Dr. Blumenthal is affiliated with the American Chemical Society, Fellow of the American Institute of Chemists, American Oil and Chemists Society, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Institute of Food Technology and Sigma Xi. He obtained his Ph.D. in Food Science and Chemistry from Rutgers University in 1994. In his spare time Dr. Blumenthal enjoys Sherlock Holmes and scale model railroading.
