Medlantis a big hit at 2013 European Congress of Radiology (ECR) / Kieran Murphy named Medlantis Editor-in-Chief

Particularly well received were the educational modules (video lectures linked to relevant e-book content and selected RadCases). Attendees also liked the comprehensive nature of the site, which contains over 43,000 pages of Thieme book and journal content as well as 86,000 radiologic images.
Over 20,000 attendees from 100 countries had the opportunity to preview Medlantis. Many commented on the high quality of the videos and the comprehensiveness of Thieme’s eRadiology site. Others liked the fact that Medlantis automatically downloads selected images into PowerPoint™ and a Medlantis site license includes the right to use the images for non-commercial purposes like presentations and lectures. Kieran Murphy, MB, BCH, BAO, BSC, LRCPI, LRCSI, FRCPC, FSIR, was recently named Editor-in-Chief of Medlantis. In his new role, Dr. Murphy will be responsible for the overall editorial development of Medlantis. Professor Murphy is Medical Director, UHN International Strategy and Deputy Chief of the Joint Department of Medical Imaging at the University Health Network Toronto. At UHN Professor Murphy is tasked with developing a culture of innovation, incubation and entrepreneurial behavior in the Techna faculty. His devices are used 60,000 times a year worldwide. His current focus is on spine augmentation radiofrequency ablation of bone mets, ozone in disk herniation, anti-oxidant use in radiation injury reduction, and hydrocephalus detection.
