Triangle Company Wins National Award -- Best Online Ad
Triangle start up wins national award for creative ad concept in online campaign for ABC.
Durham, NC, March 27, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Local digital ad company Blogads was awarded “Best Advertising Online Ad” by the Internet Advertising Competition for its creative reader behavior-triggered online campaign to promote the series premiere of “GCB,” along with advertising agency Wieden + Kennedy and its client, ABC. Fellow award winners include The Coca Cola Company, Carrot Creative, Target, McCann Digital and Biggs|Gilmore.
The award was for ABC’s campaign for “GCB” on PerezHilton.com, the world’s biggest independent blog that has been driving the celebrity gossip world online since 2005 with more than 17 million readers a month. Eighty percent of PerezHilton readers are women in their 20s and 30s. The campaign featured a series of ads Blogads built on PerezHilton.com that responded to various reader actions with messages relating to the biblical theme of “GCB,” a show featuring former nemeses that hide their mutual disdain behind a veil of Southern charm.
If a reader tweeted a PerezHilton.com story, a message appeared reminding her “Thou Shalt Not Tweet More Than 140 Characters.” Other behaviors on the site prompted similar commandments, such as “Thou shalt not look at sexy photos” or, when viewing stories about attractive married celebrities, “Thou shalt not covet another man’s wife.”
Blogads has been at the forefront of social media advertising since it launched in 2002. Today, Blogads operates as a full-scale ad sales, design, programming and trafficking service for web publishers, with offices in the heart of downtown Durham, NC. Sites represented include PerezHIlton.com, Urbandictionary.com, WhatShouldWeCallMe.tumblr.com, and CuteOverload.com.
