How does one attract an international audience to learn about Israel? A tough question that puzzles editors and webmasters alike. A question, however, that has been resolved by a website called www.lookisrael.com, a site that received 10’s of thousands of visitors since its launch in March.
The purpose of the site is to educate the visitor about the reality of Israel as a country and the Jews as a people. And it also says quite a bit about Muslims as well.
Leading visitors in with a hook - the question “Just how big IS Israel?” - the site offers much more than an answer to that question. And it answers that question thoroughly with statistical data and a custom designed interactive series of maps that has left many visitors at a loss to explain how they ever thought that Israel was bigger than it actually is.
Did you know that Israel is much, much smaller than people think it is? For example, it would fit into Florida eight times; France 25 times; Saudi Arabia 90 times? Compared to the 12.8 million Jews in the world there are 1.46 billion Muslims. In the world population one in 504 people are Jewish; one in 3 are Christian; one in 4 people are Muslim.

The surprise though is that the site doesn’t stop there - it delves into comparing Jews and Muslims and the similarities between them. Another section “Muslim Quick Facts” will leave you knowing the difference between Sunni and Shitte Muslims and the meaning of Jihad.
This is a well thought out website and leaves the visitor far better informed on leaving than they did when they arrived. Visitors won’t find any hatred here, no contempt, no emotion stirring.
