Winona State University Helps Entrepreneur "Hold on Tight" to Kwick Gripper Dream
Winona State University played a key role in helping E.B. Tool Company develop their innovative new tool, the Kwick Gripper nail remover.
Gays Mills, WI, March 29, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Winona State University provided key support and an important contribution to an innovator and entrepreneurial individual. Ben Eby, of E.B. Tool Company, along with his father, Eric Eby, created the Kwick Gripper nail remover over a period of seven years. They were eager to get the nail puller prototype made in order to start showing it to customers. That’s where Matt Benson of Winona State University stepped in and gave Ben the support he needed to get started. Matt Benson is the director of the Composite Materials Technology Center (COMTEC) at the University. He played a crucial role in helping Ben develop a rapid prototype for the Kwick Gripper nail puller.
As Ben put it, “Matt was able to give me a working model from my drawings to test and show potential customers months before the Kwick Gripper was produced. This enabled me to show the concept in a way that no static picture ever could, and ultimately helped make the Kwick Gripper a success."
The Kwick Gripper is more than just a nail pulling tool. Because it translates leverage into pulling force, it is highly effective at nail removal, lag bolt removal, and screw removal. It has strong jaws that make easy work of broken and embedded nails too. The Kwick Gripper nail remover is designed to cause minimal damage to wood, allowing both professionals and home hobbyists to salvage more wood from their deconstruction projects.
Thanks to Matt Benson, Winona State University and the prototype nail puller, Ben Eby and E.B. Tool Company are now poised to release the first of the Kwick Gripper nail removal tools. The E.B. Tool Company would like to acknowledge the support and valuable services provided by Benson and the University who lent their time and efforts free of charge. Their only request was a letter of thanks to the University and a dozen Kwick Grippers when production is complete. With community support like this from Winona State University, The Eby’s entrepreneurial dream is becoming a reality.
