QUBYX Develops Breakthrough Display Matching Technology
QUBYX has announced a major progress in the development of a new color management technology, allowing to achieve identical colors on two or more displays.
Nice, France, March 31, 2013 --(PR.com)-- QUBYX Software Technologies, a developer of display calibration and color management solutions, today announced its new Display Matching technology. This tool will be beneficial for a range of digital image dependent industries, such as graphic and web design, photo editing and retouching, video wall advertising, and others.
Most users of dual or multiple monitor setups have faced the problem of inconsistent color reproduction on the displays, which is true even for the same display models. Monitor calibration can help to bring the displays closer in color, but is often not enough to achieve identical images. The reason is that even the same monitor models are not always manufactured in exactly the same way and in the same facilities, and thus can slightly vary in their initial color reproduction peculiarities. Calibration targets are applied “onto” these initial values, resulting in the way a display reproduces image. So, for two or more displays to match, quite different targets would need to be applied on each of them.
QUBYX Display Matching technology calculates a common gamut for the displays and creates a common profile that, when applied on all the monitors, will result in identical colors. There is no need to connect all displays that need matching to one machine. Any color measurement device can be used to generate profiles with the initial values on all the monitors; further these profiles are copied to the machine where Display Matching is running, and the tool makes necessary calculations and generates the profile to be used on all displays.
“We have been working hard to achieve results in color matching multiple displays,” says Marc Leppla, Director of QUBYX. “This technology is likely to be a breakthrough in color management and digital imaging industries, offering a solution to a problem that is critical for so many users and manufacturers in the field.”
Display Matching will benefit several industries and user groups. Used for video advertising walls, it will remove inconsistencies between the displays that constitute them, thus creating a more integral image. Helping to solve color inconsistency issue on PC displays, it can be a handy tool for digital imaging pros, using dual or multiple monitor setups for image processing. Integrated into display hardware and added to color management software, Display Matching technology can add value to these products and create more demand for them.
