Seikilos Fx Studios Digitally Restoring the Famous Mural Found at the Historic Statler-Hilton Hotel
In 1956 a mural was designed and created by Jack Lubin for the Empire Room at the Statler-Hilton Hotel in Dallas. For fifty-six years the mural remained unseen and unknown behind a wall.
Dallas, TX, April 03, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Last year, national headlines were made about the discovery of the enormous mural, circa 1956 (40’x6') by famous artist Jack Lubin. Many of Mr. Lubin's works have recently been lost forever through demolition projects in New York which caused quite a furor in the art world. The Ricchi Group is going to great lengths to keep that from happening to this piece.
On March 28th 2013 at 6:00pm, history was made when Seikilos Fx Studios (SFX) digitally captured Jack Lubin’s spectacular 1956 mural. This exciting historic find was uncovered behind a wall at the former Statler-Hilton Hotel located at 1902 Commerce Street in downtown Dallas by the Ricchi Group during their renovation of that property. Using SFX’s proven proprietary fine art “image capture” and printing technologies, SFX had digitally captured the 40-feet long historic mural on location. Tyche Art International Inc., from Reno, NV (SFX’s substation owner) made an appearance to support SFX by replacing SFX’s special Hasselblad camera which was sent back to Sweden for calibration. The goal is to restore this unique work back its original glory and produce a true reproduction on high quality canvas to be enjoyed for generations to come.
The Statler-Hilton is a time capsule of a bygone era. Several well-known celebrities frequently visited this landmarked hotel such as Elvis Presley, Tina Turner, James Dean, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, and Dean Martin. The mural is an outstanding example of mid-century modern art, influenced by Miro and Picasso.
