Cannapages.com to Present 4/20 Eve with the Flobots, to Kickoff Cannabis Holiday Festivities in Denver

Cannapages.com, a medical marijuana media leader in Colorado, has announced a 4/20 Eve show with the Flobots on April 19th at the Aztlan Theater. The company's private event will be one of the first Amendment 64-friendly parties to allow recreational use of cannabis to anyone over 21.

Denver, CO, April 03, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Cannapages.com will present “4/20 Eve with The Flobots,” April 19th at the Aztlan Theater in Denver. The cannabis tech agency announced that dispensaries, edible companies, and several local bands were coming together to throw an epic party to kick-off what is known nationwide as “Cannabis Week.” The Friday night show will mimic the style of New Year’s Eve, complete with giveaways, music, and “Recreational Use” now permissible under state law at private events.

A strong lineup will join the Flobots on stage, including The Foodchain, and Rowdy Shadehouse Funk Band, both local favorites. The night will be hosted by World Freestyle champion Supernatural, with DMC world champ Chris Karns (formerly DJ Vajra) spinning. The event is sponsored by local radio station KGNU, and national cannabis magazine, Culture.

The Cannapages team, well-rooted in medical marijuana media, has now become known for such infamous social events. In the spirit of their January Birthday Spectacular, which featured nearly 24 oz of donated meds for red-card holders, as well as a giant medicated birthday cake from local edibles manufacturer Bakked, the company announced that anyone 21+ will be welcome at this private event, under Amendment 64 guidelines. Donations will still be “gifted,” and attendees will become official card-holding members of a “Recreational Guild” set up by Cannapages.

Colorado is considered an epicenter for the cannabis movement due in part to Amendment 64, a recently enacted law that allows cannabis to be grown and donated from one person to another until retail stores open in 2014. “In lieu of the international attention from legalization, and the annual High Times Cup moving from Amsterdam, we wanted to give the people of Colorado their own part of history,” said editor Rolv Harris. “Recreational gifting will be made possible through donations, but only with strong legal oversight,” he added.

Club 64, the first-known legal cannabis club in America, has announced the show as an official event. Similar groups have followed suite. And World Cannabis Week, a new tourist agency catering to out-of-towners visiting for the holiday, have booked over a hundred tickets for the celebration as official Friday-night entertainment. Denver’s Flobots are well-known for their 2008 single “Handlebars,” and the performance will be a preview of the band’s 2013 tour. Tickets are currently on sale for $24.20 online, or will be $35 at the door.
