New Production Space for Alan David Custom
Alan David Custom, custom suit maker in New York City, shares details on a new factory opened recently in Long Island, City, N.Y., which now produces all their handmade suits.
New York, NY, April 04, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Custom NYC suit maker, Alan David Custom, announced today that in Long Island City, N.Y., their newly purchased factory now operates at full capacity and is creating all handmade suits. Purchased by Alan David Custom, the LIC factory offers 15,000 square foot of space as a fully-equipped local crafting space for custom suits. This additional facility allows Alan David Custom to offer focused and unique attention to each client from the comfort of their posh showroom located in midtown Manhattan.
Alan David Custom suits were once created in a Canadian factory and while that style of operation worked smoothly for several years, the NYC clothier has been able to realize significant advantages by having a production location situated so close to the main showroom, and has been able to utilize advanced techniques in custom-made suit creation. One of the biggest benefits of the new Alan David Custom LIC factory is the option to utilize basted fittings, which means that a custom fit can be refined through temporary sewing that allows for changes in fit and style. Many manufacturers don't have this option because they don't have access to a local workshop. A lot of time is required for such fittings and repeated adjusting of basted fittings doesn't work without a nearby workshop.
Alan Horowitz, the owner of Alan David Custom, says, "No tailored clothing that we create at Alan David Custom is ever outsourced. Now, everything is made in our New York City facilities. Owning our factory makes it possible for us to better control costs, maintain our competitive prices and use the finest custom tailoring techniques to ensure the best fit and highest quality suit of clothing for every client we serve."
Fine hand-tailored clothing has always been a focus of Alan David Custom and they never create made-to-measure or ready-to-wear suits. The creation of each piece of custom clothing always starts with an individual pattern that is carefully drafted for a single client. Mr. Horowitz says, "Our new facility in Long Island City helps immeasurably in our primary goal of ensuring that every Alan David Custom suit is made to the highest possible standards."
A family business since 1926, current owner Mr. Horowitz continues traditions begun by his grandfather, Moe Ginsburg, who was well-loved and known in the retail apparel industry in New York City for many years. Mr. Horowitz spent his summer and winter breaks in his grandfather's stores and learned the business from the ground up. After obtaining a college degree and working within accounting for a time, Alan made his way back to his family's roots and officially joined the business in 1992. For several years now, Alan David Custom has built a solid reputation for offering high quality men's suits that have been hand-tailored with care. With the new facility in LIC, Alan David Custom showcases dedication for providing men's clothing of exceptional value.
