Executive Women of New Jersey Joins InterOrganizationNetwork (ION): Furthers Mission of Broadening Opportunities for Women on Corporate Boards
Trenton, NJ, April 04, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Executive Women of New Jersey (”EWNJ”), the region’s leading not-for-profit organization promoting women’s executive leadership in the enterprise and corporate boards, today announced EWNJ has been accepted into the membership of InterOrganizationNetwork (ION). Formed in 2004, ION is a national organization, representing more than 10,000 women, that advocates for the advancement of women to board of directors and executive-level positions.
EWNJ becomes the 17th organization to join ION. This affiliation offers EWNJ extended reach to better connect the region’s board-ready women with opportunities to serve by leveraging ION’s network, strategic affiliations, and known board opportunities.
“As one of the region’s leading organizations serving executive women, EWNJ has long been a champion and supporter of broader participation by women on corporate boards,” said Keitha Lackey, Senior Vice President of fwd>direct and President of EWNJ. “By building relationships with leading companies and highlighting the unique attributes women leaders bring to the table, we have helped make progress towards greater board diversity. Membership in ION enables us to turn up the volume on these efforts.”
Additionally, EWNJ announced the launch of a study, which will examine representation of women on corporate boards. The study, underwritten and conducted by by PriceWaterhouseCoopers, will study the board composition of New Jersey public companies. Results will be presented at EWNJ’s Leadership Breakfast in November.
