The Food Bank of South Jersey Needs Your Vote on Facebook
Pennsauken, NJ, April 05, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Help the Food Bank of South Jersey receive a Walmart grant to fund food and nutrition education to needy children and seniors in South Jersey with the "click" of a mouse. http://bit.ly/16YDvz1
“Do it for South Jersey!” is the rally cry of The Food Bank of South Jersey as it looks to the public to put them over the top in a highly contested grant competition hosted by Walmart on its Facebook page.
The national “Fighting Hunger Together” initiative is a partnership of Feeding America and Walmart to award grants to regional Food Banks and Agencies who get the most votes for their programs to alleviate child hunger. Anyone in the Facebook community can vote once each day for the food bank of their choice.
More than 300 different hunger relief organizations across the country are competing for votes via facebook clicks at www.facebook.com/walmart. The more votes a Feeding America food bank or partner agency gets, the better the chance they have of winning the money. All funds awarded will be used to support local hunger relief programs for children.
Current USDA data reveals that more than 16 million children in the United States are food insecure. Here in South Jersey, there are an estimated 57,000 children who are struggling with hunger every single day.
For Facebook “friends” who want to “do it for South Jersey,” the Food Bank of South Jersey has created a short link http://bit.ly/16YDvz1 to take them right to the FBSJ page to vote once a day, every day until April 30, 2013.
