Celebrate at the Hope & Home Gala to Benefit SOS Children’s Villages – Florida
SOS Children's Villages - Florida has been a place of healing, hope and home for south Florida foster children for two decades and it has truly taken a Village to help raise the more than 400 boys and girls who have called SOS home. This year, the annual Hope & Home Gala is also a celebration of the organization's 20th Anniversary, the generation of children who grew up in the Village and the generations still to come.
Coconut Creek, FL, April 06, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Club Managers Association of America Seminole Region Charity Golf Tournament is proud to present the 16th Annual Hope & Home Gala Dinner, Dance and Auction to benefit SOS Children's Villages – Florida (SOS). They are joined by other generous friends and energetic committee members, who are hard at work to make this event a huge success for the foster children who call SOS home.
The festivities take place on Sunday, April 21 at Boca West Country Club at 6:00 p.m.
This year’s gala celebrates SOS Children’s Villages – Florida’s 20th anniversary of providing healing, hope and home to South Florida’s foster children. For two decades, SOS has changed the lives of more than 400 children - giving them safe homes, joyful childhoods and vital services to help them grow into confident successful adults.
The gala has evolved from its small beginnings in 1997 as the tennis pro-am tournament dinner and auction with 100 attendees raising $35,000 to the signature event it is now with over 400 attendees raising over $350,000 annually. “Because of the hard work, talent and energy of the gala committee, this event has helped given childhood back to hundreds of children who have been abused, abandoned and neglected. At SOS they have a place to call home with nurturing staff and vital services like therapy, tutoring and life skills training,” says Joanne Dupont longtime SOS Volunteer and 2012 recipient of the Spirit of Home Award Outstanding Volunteer.
With the support of the community from events like the Gala, they have raised a generation of kids. They are grown now and building their lives in our community. Guynette has graduated college, Freddy became a Broward Sherriff’s Deputy, Jackie is in the police academy, Lucy is completing her LPN to become a nurse, Natasha is traveling the world and helping others in any way she can, and the list goes on.
Hope & Home Gala festivities will include gourmet food, cocktails, jazz lounge, live and silent auctions, and fabulous entertainment by the Dillard Center for the Arts Jazz Ensemble and the dynamic Tony Sona band. The auctions will feature amazing items such as Saks Fifth Avenue Fashion Experience in New York City, Napa Valley Vineyard Getaway, Vacation Cruises, Diamond Jewelry, Golf Packages at Courses across South Florida, and much more. Tickets are $200 per person.
