Omarosa to Host Miss Black TN USA Pageant
Omarosa to host the 2007 Miss Black Tennessee USA Scholarship Pageant, Saturday August 18, 2007, 5:00 PM at the Tennessee State University Performing Arts Center's Cox-Lewis Theatre. The former pageant queen will join contestants from across the state as they compete for the coveted title of Miss Black Tennessee USA.
Nashville, TN, August 12, 2007 --(PR.com)-- TV star Omarosa is set to host the 2007 Miss Black Tennessee USA Scholarship Pageant, Saturday August 18, 2007, 5:00 PM at the Tennessee State University Performing Arts Center's Cox-Lewis Theatre. The former pageant queen will join contestants from across the state as they compete for the coveted title of Miss Black Tennessee USA.
In 2004, Omarosa captured the attention of the business community and the nation as a cast member on the hit show The Apprentice with Donald Trump where she quickly emerged as a pack leader.
As a teen, Omarosa was the first African American women to be crowned as Miss Youngstown and went on to compete in the Miss Ohio America pageant. She has competed in all major pageant systems including Miss USA, Miss America, Mrs. America and Mrs. United States. Additionally, she proudly served as a black college queen after winning the title of Miss Central State University in 1995. As an international pageant trainer she has successfully coached candidate to the title of Miss USA, Miss Guyana and Miss Taiwan. She currently serves as the official trainer for the Miss District of Columbia USA pageant which is a state preliminary for Donald Trump's Miss USA, Miss Teen USA and Miss Universe pageants.
Omarosa recently served as a celebrity judge for the Miss Black USA pageant in the Gambia, West Africa where 2006 Miss Black Tennessee, Kalilah Allen-Harris , received the national title. "I am looking forward to serving as host of the 2007 Miss Black TN pageant" she says. "This organization offers a wonderful opportunity for young women to shine. It will be great to reconnect with Miss Black Tennessee. The last time I saw Kalilah she was on the stage in Gambia, West African being crowned Miss Black USA."
Miss Black Tennessee USA pageant contestants will compete in five categories: personal interview, health & fitness, talent, evening gown, and question/answer segment. The newly crowned queen will advance to the Miss Black USA national competition in August 2008.
2007 pageant sponsors include Allstate Insurance Company, Tennessee State University, WQQK 92.1 FM, Coca Cola Community Connection, American Heart Association, WUBT 101.1 FM, Embassy Suites, The Tennessee Tribune, and Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
