Litesprite Selected as Finalist in Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Games to Generate Data Challenge
Company’s innovative game is designed to help people manage anxiety and depression through gameplay.
Bellevue, WA, April 12, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Seattle-based Litesprite announced today that it is one of five finalists in the competitive Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Games to Generate Data Challenge. Aligning Forces for Quality (AF4Q) —Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s signature effort to lift the overall quality of health care in targeted communities, reduce racial and ethnic disparities, and provide models for national reform—is sponsoring a competition among technology developers to create game applications that generate useful health care quality data to improve health and health care. The Game Challenge is the second in a series of innovation competitions sponsored by the Foundation through its Aligning Forces initiative.
Litesprite’s finalist application is a casual game designed to help people, especially adult women, with anxiety/depression. Incorporating evidence-based treatment methods into the gameplay, the game will be a first-of-kind self-help tool for mental health. Throughout the game, the player's activity and progress will be tracked and rewarded. Clinicians and caregivers will be able to access information to help understand the player’s underlying challenges and triggers associated with managing anxiety. Friends and family will also have a mechanism to participate as part of the player's support network. The company intends to develop a suite of games to address a number of health conditions. These games have the potential to significantly improve health outcomes.
