Doctor's Best has introduced Green Tea Phytosome into its dietary supplement line. Scott Steinford, president of Doctor's Best, made the announcement. Doctor's Best has introduced Green Tea Phytosome into its dietary supplement line. Scott Steinford, president of Doctor's Best, made the announcement. This product is available in 60 vegetarian capsules, each providing 150 milligrams of the proprietary decaffeinated green tea extract Greenselect® PhytosomeTM.
Green Tea Phytosome features Greenselect® PhytosomeTM, a decaffeinated green tea catechin extract complexed with the nutrient phosphatidylcholine to facilitate superior bioavailability of green tea catechins. Green Tea Phytosome is standardized to contain 19–25% polyphenols, and a minimum 13% EGCG—a potent and widely studied catechin. The major green tea catechins (EGCG being the most abundant) have different chemical structures, and thus are able to scavenge a variety of free radicals.
Human trials suggest green tea polyphenols such as those in Green Tea Phytosome help protect DNA by providing an extra source of dietary antioxidants. Green tea extract has been found to promote healthy metabolic function and a significant increase in total antioxidant status (signifying support against oxidative stress).
