Heritage College is Now Enrolling for EMT Training
Oklahoma City, OK, April 15, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Heritage College campus in Oklahoma City has begun taking applications for enrollment in its new EMT program.
“Heritage is really excited about this program,” said Heritage College Director Andrea Riley. “Heritage offers training that serves real needs in Oklahoma City. The school is committed to offering EMT training that leads to EMS professionals it can be proud to trust in emergency situations.”
The Heritage EMT - Basic program prepares graduates to be qualified to apply for employment with ambulance services and acute emergency facilities.
EMTs administer first aid or life support care to sick or injured persons in pre-hospital settings. They perform emergency treatment procedures such as airway management, heart monitoring, and spinal and extremity immobilization. They must exercise considerable judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. During the pre-hospital treatment, they communicate with dispatchers and treatment center personnel in order to arrange reception of victims and receive instructions for further treatment. EMTs are trained to operate equipment, such as automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and bag valve mask resuscitators, in life support environments.
