Rentricity Announces New 2013 Energy Recovery Projects in Vermont and Canada
New York, NY, April 16, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Rentricity Inc., the in-pipe hydropower clean energy recovery company located in New York City, will develop new projects in Vermont and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The two new 2013 projects will include the deployment of Rentricity’s award nominated technology that efficiently recovers energy while reliably managing pressure in water infrastructure. Rentricity’s Flow-to-Wire™ system captures excess pressure and flow within gravity-fed distribution pipelines, converting it into clean energy for the electric grid or the customer's onsite use.
“The City of Barre, Vermont is excited to upgrade its replacement pressure reducing structure with Rentricity’s in-pipe hydropower system, which serves as an example of Barre’s commitment to green technology,” says Steve Mackenzie, City Manager. Barre has received grants from the Vermont Clean Energy Development Fund and the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources Green Reserve Fund in support of the 12kW size project. The project is Rentricity first in the state of Vermont.
Rentricity will also develop a 30kW site for the Halifax Regional Water Commission (Halifax Water). The site includes integration with Halifax Water’s remote control system and will provide clean energy to nearby residents through the Province’s Community Feed-In Tariff (COMFIT) Program. “Our renewable energy project comes after a thorough review of pressure regulation vaults, has been approved as an eligible COMFIT project by the Nova Scotia Department of Energy, and includes funding from the Water Research Foundation and the Nova Scotia Department of Environment,” said Carl Yates, General Manager for Halifax Water.
The Halifax project is Rentricity’s first project in Canada. “Rentricity continues to advance the product line with new features to meet the customer’s needs for cost effective and reliable clean energy solutions,” said Al Spinell, Co-founder and Advisor. “2013 will see four new Rentricity operating installations, reflecting a growing adoption of energy recovery systems and interest in Rentricity’s Flow-to-WireÔ systems by water operators,” he added. Rentricity is now targeting the oil refinement industry as well as food and beverage processors.
Rentricity will be featured at the 2013 HydroVision International Conference held in Denver, Colorado on July 23rd through the 26th.
