Dr. Andreas Giehl Joins Q-Lab as Technical & Standards Director
Saarbrücken, Germany, April 17, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Q-Lab Corporation is pleased to announce that Dr. Andreas Giehl recently joined the company as their European Technical and Standards Director. Dr. Giehl will be based out of the company’s German office and support Q-Lab’s customers throughout Europe.
In this position, Dr. Giehl will also work diligently with standards committees like ISO to ensure global weathering and lightfastness standards continue to be performance-based. Performance-based standards are key to fair and open competition amongst equipment makers like Q-Lab. Dr. Giehl will also help lead Q-Lab’s new ISO 17025-accredited European accelerated lab in Q-Lab Germany.
Dr. Giehl is widely recognized for his work in the field of textiles, having spent many years at DyStar Colours Distribution GmbH, a leading global dyestuff manufacturer. He holds several patents on wool and polyamide dyes from his time there. Dr. Giehl is also a long-time key member of several ISO, DIN and DEK standardization committees and retains strong relationships with various universities and testing institutes. He is intimately familiar with weathering and lightfastness testing equipment from multiple manufacturers.

Dr. Giehl holds a M.Sc. in Chemistry from Aachen University in Germany and earned a Ph.D. in technical chemistry at the German Wool Research Institute, Aachen with his award-winning thesis.
