Golden Software Releases Strater® 4
Golden Software upgrades its Strater software package to version 4. Popular new features include the ability to create cross sections from line logs, show deviation paths of boreholes, change the coordinate system of your map, wrap linked text onto multiple lines, show the headers/footers only on specific pages, drawing unconformity lines, and use streamlined templates.
Golden, CO, April 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Golden Software, Inc., the leading developer of affordable scientific graphics software, announces the release of Strater 4, a powerful, user-friendly well log, borehole and cross section plotting software package for geoscientists. Strater 3 enables users to quickly create professional well logs, cross sections and location maps from interval, depth, and other borehole data.
The most highly-anticipated new features in Strater 4 are the abilities to display deviated logs in a cross section, display deviation paths on a map, and to create cross sections using line logs. Showing deviated logs and deviation paths are helpful with so many boreholes currently being deviated and horizontal. Strater can now create a more accurate representation of the data. Creating cross sections from line logs opens up the possibilities to many geoscientists who only have geophysical data (i.e. LAS files) and top or bottom layer picks.
Another powerful new feature is the addition of a full coordinate system library. Users can create maps from data in all different coordinate systems. When cross sections are created from the maps, the horizontal units displayed in the well headers or horizontal scale bars can be converted accurately to any desired units.
Other popular new features include wrapping text onto multiple lines in linked text objects, only showing headers/footers on specific pages, drawing unconformity lines, and easier-to-use templates.
Comments from Strater customers:
“I have been looking for an effective, flexible, and intuitive cross section tool. Strater provides the optimal balance between cost, ease of use, and flexibility.” - Stephen Heerman, Hydrogeologist, Eagon & Associates, Inc.
“These plots are gorgeous, and I'll be showing a few of them in my mining convention presentation in November.” - Richard Flanders, consulting minerals geologist.
“I think Strater is about the best, easiest and most updateable strip log generator I've found out there… miles better than the competition.” - Paul Stacey, President - MapIT Ltd.
Industries capitalizing on Strater include oil and gas, environmental, geophysical, geotechnical, mining, exploration, geothermal, water resources, mud logging, energy, utilities, government, military, and education.
Strater 4 operates in a Microsoft® Windows environment with Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8. Strater 4 is now available for a retail price of $449, with quantity discounts available. Upgrades from any previous version of Strater are available for only $149. Strater 4 includes free updates and free technical support.
