Local Philly Artist Combines Kickstarter and Mother's Day to Create a Match Made in Heaven
Kickstarter helps local Philadelphia Artist launch a project to celebrather mom and all moms on Mother's Day.
Philadelphia, PA, April 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Michele Tremblay, is a local Philadelphia artist, known mostly for her brilliant oversized paper flower sculptures has created “The Dora Project” to honor her mom, Dora, who passed away while Michele was attending art school. Rather than the usual flowers or candy, how about an artisan Mother's Day greeting in the form of a handmade one-of-a-kind art-card, signed and made especially for your mom (of favorite mom-like person) with a personal message from you, and mailed directly to the “mom” of your choice just in time for Mother's Day. Delight the special woman in your life with a keepsake to be treasured as a piece of art for years to come.
The art cards that are included in The Dora Project are personally designed and created by Michele’s hand and signed on artist's quality paper. There are three themes, all based on things loved by the artist’s Mom. Choose from beach holidays, flowers, or fashion. This is the perfect gift for any Mom who loves beautiful art; they are affordable, unique and elegant.
The Dora Project is currently hosted on Kickstarter.com, the popular crowd-funding platform through 04/08/2013-04/25/2013. Although the project has been fully funded and has exceeded Michele’s expectations, there is still enough time to make more cards and help more people bring joy to more Moms.
Michele is a well regarded floral designer with over 30 years of experience, her paper flower sculptures are currently on display at Millesime at 41 South 3rd Street in Old City, Philadelphia, and have been featured in Design Philadelphia, and on various blogs. Michele is currently working on a large scale sculpture which will be installed in the US Air terminal of the Philadelphia International Airport in December 2013. One other note of interest, Michele’s oldest son, Tom Stewart, hosted a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign of his own and was able to coach his Mom through the process... like son like mom.
