The Grimes Companies Makes List of 50 Fastest Growing Companies

Jacksonville, FL, August 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Jacksonville based The Grimes Companies, has been ranked as the area’s 9th fastest growing company according to the Jacksonville Business Journal’s 2007 list of “50 Fastest Growing Companies” in northeast Florida.

The Business Journal’s criteria are stringent and always verified by an independent accounting firm. To make the list a company must have had annual revenue of at least $1 million each year since 2004 and it must have had consecutive annual revenue growth from 2004 to 2006. Rankings were based on a company’s percentage of annual growth over a three-year period.

Grimes President Michael O’Leary expects this growth to continue: “We have seen over 60% average annual growth in revenue between 2004 and 2006, and we anticipate 20-25% growth this year.” The Grimes Companies continue to add sophistication and range to its services, which include warehousing, transportation, packaging and file storage. In addition, its unique new “Grimes Across America” program adds scope and service for clients with nationwide transportation needs.

Clients have responded to the multi-faceted focus Grimes provides. The business keeps growing as more clients enjoy the seamless service, saving them time and money.

“They were stellar (in customer service) when they started, and they keep pushing the envelope,” said Neil Wheeler, general manager of International Flavors and Fragrances Inc. The Jacksonville company has used Grimes for over 20 years. “Having it right all the time is really important to them and to us as well,” he added.

Coors Brewing Company in Golden, CO, has used Grimes services, and is impressed as well. “If there is a guiding principle,” said owner and chairman Thomas L. Grimes, “It’s to satisfy your customer. They sometimes ask us for the world and we expect to be able to deliver it.” Grimes, now semi-retired, maintains a sharp interest in the company started by his family three generations ago.
