Registration Open for Jewelry Retreat
Registration is now open for the first annual 2013 Summer Jewelry Retreat and Workshop at the beautiful Overleaf Lodge & Spa Resort June 25th-28th. Registration closes May 20th.
Yachats, OR, April 20, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The workshop will feature three days of beading and jewelry-making in a nurturing environment with resort-style comfort and unmatched hospitality. Each instructor has chosen three projects to teach, presenting a variety of basic and intermediate techniques and unique designs.
The instructors are Heather Burnem, an artist who lives in Florence, who will teach students two versions of a wire-wrapped linked bracelet, as well as an intermediate class leather and bead bracelet; Carol Beck, a beader from Lebanon, Oregon, who will provide instruction for using seed beads to make a peyote stitch bracelet, brick stitch earrings and an intermediate class “butterfly” bracelet with bicone beads; Valerie Odenthal, owner of the Antique Virgin shop in Yachats, who will show how to make an 11-strand seed bead necklace, a kumihimo rope necklace with a beaded pendant or an intermediate class copper and bead necklace.
Part of the proceeds for this and all retreats that East Meets West Event Production creates goes to Zeb’s Wish Equine Sanctuary in Sandy, Oregon. Zeb’s Wish Provides a permanent refuge for abused and abandoned special needs equines.
Military discounts are also offered.
The Overleaf Event Center is a cozy space where small group classes can meet for one-on-one instruction. A group rate of $139.50 a night (plus tax) for oceanfront rooms is available to workshop participants. Each room has two queen beds and includes rates quoted for single or double occupancy, $10 for each additional person (plus tax). A full breakfast is included. This beautiful hotel has extended the group rate for the following weekend to all attendees of the Jewelry Making Retreat by offering a $175.50 price per night in hopes that they stay and explore the Arts Festival in Yachats. The Overleaf offers a relaxing spa, soothing massage therapy, and stunning views of the dramatic coast. A trail winds along the rocky bluff to the beach. In the town of Yachats, participants will find a range of dining and shopping, plus access to many nearby scenic vistas.
