UTRS Runs to Support Wounded Warriors Project
Cherry Hill, NJ, April 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS), a leading provider of engineering, information technology and communications services, today announced that it will send 20 runners to the Broad Street Run on May 5, 2013, to support the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). UTRS Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel Marc Snyderman made the announcement.
“Last year we started a new tradition at UTRS to pull together teams to run the Broad Street 10-miler, and to raise money and awareness for a charity that supports our veterans. This year we’ve chosen the Wounded Warrior Project, which honors and empowers our wounded warriors. It is critical that we raise the visibility of the needs of our injured service members and enlist the public’s aid to help them as they return to civilian life. WWP’s tagline is ‘Carrying Forward’ and ours is ‘Thinking Forward’; together we’ll be running, thinking, and carrying forward on May 5 to support our wounded warriors,” Snyderman stated.
The WWP began when several veterans and friends, moved by stories of the first wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq, took action to help others in need. What started as a program to provide comfort items to wounded service members has grown into a complete rehabilitative effort to assist warriors as they recover and transition back to civilian life. WWP supports tens of thousands of wounded warriors and caregivers each year through its empowerment programs.
UTRS recently embarked on an employee wellness program, and the Broad Street Run is a great example of their employees’ commitment to exercise and live healthy lives.
