Austin, TX, April 26, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Cheer Channel Inc. (CCI), the #1 online entertainment and news network for the spirit industry, announced today that it has partnered with well-known Texas event producer, Cheer Star Productions, to film the climactic showdown between fictional teams, the "Texas Twisters" and "Shooting Stars" for CCI's Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader 2: The Fierce One. Filming took place during the Cheer Star Productions "Alamo Nationals" at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio on January 13, 2013, where more that 60 teams competed.
Cheer Star Productions is a Plano, Texas based Independent Event Producer of cheer competitions. Founded by Sharon Garrett Fuery and Venessa Williams Lewis in 2005, Cheer Star proudly provides cheerleaders in Texas with excellent productions and judges, as well as stellar coach and athlete training. Cheer Star hosts numerous cheer competitions in Texas and provides fun and competitive events for athletes and spectators.
Cheer Star announced at the start of the event that people in attendance, along with coaches, judges and real cheer teams may be seen or interviewed as part of the final episode of the series. "We promised that each new series in the Secret Diary franchise will feature real cheerleaders acting and doing stunts and routines, and this season is no exception," said Cheer Channel President and series Executive Producer, Lance Robbins. "This time, our fictional teams will appear right alongside real cheer teams with all the excitement of an All-Star cheer event." In order to keep the outcome of the show a secret from both press and participants, both fictional teams may be announced as the winner of the competition and different endings will be filmed.
Sharon Fuery and Venessa Lewis, co-owners of Cheer Star Productions, were excited about being asked to be a part of the popular web-series, which now has over 1.3 million total views from the combined CCI social media platforms. "I was an avid viewer of the first season of Secret Diary and loved the fact that it was something that was produced specifically for our industry," said Lewis. "The producers at CCI took great care to make this an authentic look at All-Star cheerleading with a nice touch of drama for the whole family," added Fuery. "We are gearing up for more fans and visitors than usual that want to see a touch of Hollywood come to San Antonio, while at the same time watching a great Nationals competition."
"Cheer Star Productions was a very clear choice for us when looking for event producers to work with on the series," said Cindy Villarreal, Cheer Channel CEO and co-creator of the franchise. "Not only did Cheer Star have a terrific reputation, but as a member of the IEP clearly saw the advantages that good strategic partnerships can bring to an industry that often stumbles over itself when it comes to supporting those that make a significant contribution to it''s success."
Visitors and cheerleaders were treated to some fabulous gifts and prizes provided by the many industry and teen and tween brands that are taking part in Secret Diary 2, including Amethyst Jeans, Kicks Athleticks, Glitterbug Cosmetics, Chasse, POWERBows, Go! Fight! Win! Music, Maddie Gardner Collection, Cheer Star Productions, Hoss Choreography and others.
