Transcend Donates to Funds Supporting Boston Marathon Victim Recovery
Boston, MA, April 27, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Transcend, an interactive marketing company headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, announced donations to The One Fund Boston and The Officer Richard Donohue Fund, two charities set up to help victims of the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15th.
“Like many who were in Boston to witness the tragic events on marathon day, our thoughts continue to be focused on those individuals and families most directly impacted,” Transcend CEO Jason Nauman said. “We know it will be a long road back for many of the victims but we are incredibly encouraged by the outpouring of charity and support for them both here in Boston and around the globe.”
The One Fund Boston was created by Governor Deval Patrick and Mayor Thomas Menino to raise money for the families affected by the tragedy. The campaign has already taken in over $20 million dollars. Organizers are planning to distribute all the money raised to those in need by June 30.
The Officer Richard Donohue Fund was established by the MBTA to raise funds for the family of transit police officer Richard Donohue, who was seriously wounded in the shootout with the Boston Marathon bombing suspects in Watertown four days after the attack. The 33-year-old Winchester native is a three-year veteran of the department. He is married and a father to a 7-month-old son.
“We owe a debt of gratitude to Richard Donohue and all the other members of law enforcement who responded to the terrorist attacks with an inspiring display of professionalism and bravery,” said Nauman.
