Karen H. Folino Named Assistant Vice President, Industry Support Services by Railinc
Cary, NC, August 16, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Railinc has announced the appointment of Karen H. Folino as assistant vice president, industry support services. Her role with Railinc--the largest, single source of real-time, accurate interline rail data--will be to continue strengthening relationships between Class I railroads, short lines railroads, equipment owners, rail suppliers, and Railinc.
“I am delighted to have gained Karen's well-rounded perspective on customer service, sales management, supply chain management and change management,” says E. Allen West, Railinc president and CEO.
Most recently, Folino was vice president, client services market decisions for The Nielsen Company (AC Nielsen). Since 2005 she managed a national sales force that produced $20 million in revenue. In addition to her consumer sector experience with AC Nielsen, Conagra Foods (director, customer service and operations), and Sara Lee Corporation (marketing manager), Folino also has strong supply chain management experience. Most recently she was vice president, new business development/customer service solutions for Logistics.com. Prior to that she was with CSX Transportation as assistant vice president - new business development, and BNSF Railway Company as director, field marketing.
Of her new position, Folino says, “My role is to connect with Class I railroads so that we bring maximum value forward into the industry. We will continue to intensify Railinc's focus on customer service through an improved understanding of railroad and shipper business needs. At the same time, we'll be closely evaluating our customer service strategy and systems to make sure we are offering the best available technology and practices in the marketplace.”
Folino has an MBA from the University of Dallas, an MS in business education from the University of Tennessee, and a BS in business education from Lee University. She has also earned a Certificate in Transportation and Logistics (CTL) from the American Society of Transportation and Logistics.
