Just in time for Mother’s Day, Santa Monica Playhouse and MBM Productions present "Mother - She's With You Wherever You Go," one daughter’s hilarious and touching journey to find herself, even with her mother’s apron strings tethered around her neck. A true tale about an extraordinary Irish-Catholic mother and a complicated relationship that will take you on a roller-coaster ride from survival to forgiveness and all the insane and life-affirming moments in between.

Written and performed by Mary-Beth Manning. Manning has been an actress for most of her life, officially taking the professional plunge at the age of 14 in her first role as Joanne Woodward’s daughter in the movie See How She Runs. Originally directed by Diana Castle, "Mother" premiered in Los Angeles in the fall of 2009 at the Imagined Life Theatre to sold-out audiences and critical acclaim. In 2010, it was re-staged by Manning and actress Roma Maffia, and played a five month, sold-out run at the Elephant Stages Theatre in Hollywood, with an additional limited engagement at The Hudson Guild Theatre in Hollywood, in March 2011. "Mother" was work shopped at The West Side Theatre Off-Broadway and Stage Left studios, NYC. It made its New York premiere at The New York International Fringe Festival in August 2011.
