London Hotels Gear Up for Notting Hill Carnival Season

Street party enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice in August with UK’s largest Caribbean Festival, the Notting Hill Carnival taking place on the 25th & 26th August, 2007. And, the London hotels are gearing up for a windfall of visitors.

London, United Kingdom, August 17, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Notting Hill Carnival will see over 2 million people take to the West London streets to soak up the lively atmosphere of the two day festival to celebrate all things Caribbean. Whilst it is a regular yearly outing for many Londoners, it also attracts many new visitors to the capital.

As expected nearby hotel accommodation is quickly booking out and prices are expected to shoot up around the event dates. Leading London hotel reservation specialist BHRC Online (www.bhrc.co.uk) recommends booking a hotel in Bayswater or Paddington early so as to avoid last minute disappointment. BHRC Online has tied-up with hotels around the events and there are still some good discounts up to 60% available for Internet bookings.

Started in 1966 as a local festival by the West Indian immigrants, it has since grown into a full-fledged Caribbean carnival, attracting millions of visitors from around the world, with groups from as far as South America, Africa and, of course, the Caribbean bringing music, dance and costume to the area in spectacular style. Travelling to and from the carnival can be difficult as key local stations tend to be closed due to the huge volume of visitors.

Notting Hill Carnival also provides an opportunity to get the best taste of exotic Caribbean cuisines on the carnival days. Music at Notting Hill Carnival would include anything from Reggae to R&B, Funk, House and much more. Live stages featuring local bands and top international artists set the tempo for the occasion.

The main attractions of the Carnival are the imaginative floats in the parade supported by loud thumping music, the bold and bright costumes, and energetic dancing on the streets. The Carnival parade would pass through the major streets of Notting Hill and surrounding areas.

While there are many star hotels around the event location, in case of non-availability BHRC Online recommends checking out nearby areas like, Kensington, Hyde Park or Marble Arch for hotel discount offers while still staying close to the action.
