Berwick Area Community Watch First Official Meeting

Berwick, PA, May 03, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The first official meeting of the Berwick Area Community Watch will be held Tuesday, May 14th starting at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at Berwick City Hall, 1800 North Market Street, Berwick, PA.

Objectives of community watch:

1. Increase citizen's awareness of community crime through an informational program.
2. Develop an awareness program where neighbors help watch each other's property and report suspicious persons and activities to the police.
3. Encourage all citizens to cooperate with police in reporting crime.
4. Train citizens to better secure their property.

Help citizens become the "eyes and ears" of the Police
The Community Watch is a joint operation of the Berwick Area United Way and the Berwick Borough police department, in cooperation with the police departments of the surrounding communities of Briar Creek, Beach Haven, Salem and Nescopeck.
