Calloway's and Cornelius Nursery Host Texas Native Plant Day
Texas-based garden centers, Calloway's and Cornelius Nursery host a special day focused on gardening with plants native to Texas.
Dallas, TX, May 02, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Texas-based garden center, Calloway’s and Cornelius Nursery will host a Native Plant Day event at all Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston garden centers on Saturday, May 4.
The garden centers open at 9 a.m., and the day includes the widest variety of Texas native plants the company has ever ordered; a free clinic, “Gardening with Native Plants,” and plant experts to answer questions about gardening with Texas friendly plants.
The company hopes to introduce native plants to gardeners who haven’t considered them before and offer a wider selection to gardeners already using them. Native plants are good for the environment because they are natural to the area and require less water once established.
The Native Plant collection at Calloway’s and Cornelius Nursery garden centers includes perennials that return year-after-year, climbing vines, hedge and shrubs plants, trees and a variety of grasses. A list of plants and descriptions are available on the Calloway’s web site for preview.
“The Calloway’s and Cornelius Nursery team is excited to share knowledge and advice about plants native to the Texas region. Native plants are easy-to-grow, require less water, include a variety of plant sizes, shapes and colors making them a great option for both expert and novice Texas gardeners. We are eager to expose gardeners to the world of native plants during Native Plant Day,” said Kimberly Bird, vice president of marketing.
