Houston Social Source Partners with Whole Foods Market to Bring Houston "Meet Market" 2013
The 1986 Houston Singles Event with Singles Mingling in and Out of Grocery Store Aisles Returns.
Houston, TX, May 03, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Single Houstonians will find themselves shopping for other singles in a fresh, new way among the fresh, new offerings of Whole Foods Market Montrose.
In 1986, 2500 single Houstonians converged upon a local grocery for the first “Meet Market”. There were games in the aisles and entertainment offerings. The Houston Social Source and Whole Foods Market Montrose brings the event into 2013 - replacing the bar scene and gym for a whole new – albeit wholesome old-school - approach. Friday, May 10, 2013, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm Whole Foods Market Montrose, 701 Waugh Dr. Houston, TX 77019, will transform into a market where meeting other single Houstonians is as easy as picking out produce with a bit of 80’s twist – a subtle homage to the original event in 1986.
“We’ve all seen people we might be interested in wandering the aisles of the grocery store. It’s also the one place where people interact as themselves on a genuine level but no one is comfortable enough to reach out romantically. We are removing that social roadblock by teaming-up with Whole Foods Market for a day of meeting at the market packed with fun and no pressure,” says Jennifer Huthmacher, owner of The Houston Social Source. “We’ll have live music, dancing and innovative dating games that will transform the aisles of the market and the parking lot into a meeting ground. The evening will prove that love can be found just about anywhere – even running your daily errands."
Entertainment includes live music from 80’s cover band: The Lost Boys, dancing and games such as “Pass The Orange” in the parking lot and MIX 96.5 on premises to liven the event. As the night progresses, matchmakers will be on hand to offer a bit of advice as well as “aisles of love” games, and the Dating Game hosted by a MIX 96.5 DJ. The night will end with Whole Foods Market Montrose showing the 80’s classic, Sixteen Candles in the parking lot.
“Whole Foods Market has been an innovator in the grocery business since 1980 so we feel this unique event is a natural addition to our community involvement here in Houston,” says Nick Fisher, marketing manager of Whole Foods Market at such and such street. “We think it is always fun to try new things and think this event will be a success for local singles, our partners at The Houston Social Source and for us here at such and such Whole Foods.”
The event is open to all Houston singles – regardless of sexual orientation – which is another way The Houston Social Source is being innovative in their quest to “hook up” the City Of Houston.
