Anderson Jones Hosts Lithuanian Delegates During N.C. Bar Association Attorney Exchange Program
Firm Serves as One of Three Hosts to International Delegates, Sharing Information on Business Litigation
Raleigh, NC, May 04, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Anderson Jones, a full-service law firm serving North Carolina and South Carolina (http://www.andersonandjones.com), has announced that the firm hosted delegates from Lithuania as part of the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) Attorney Exchange Program on April 30, during the delegates’ visit to North Carolina spanning from April 27 through May 1. The delegates’ visit marks the culmination of a two-way exchange through which attorneys from the NCBA visited Lithuania and Latvia last year.
Partner Todd Jones joined fellow NCBA members in visiting the countries last year, and, in return, provided the Lithuanian delegates with a special presentation on business litigation during their visit to North Carolina.
Organized through the NCBA’s International Law & Practice Section, the exchange program is designed to foster professional understanding through the exchange of ideas, information and experiences on the practice of law in each legal system.
During their visit, the delegates toured various legal landmarks, organizations and historic buildings in the Triangle, including the Governor’s Mansion, the office of the N.C. Secretary of State, the N.C. Supreme Court, the N.C. Court of Appeals, the N.C. State Bar, and schools such as Campbell University School of Law and the University of North Carolina School of Law.
The NCBA Attorney Exchange Program began in 2006 and has featured outbound excursions to Taiwan, Argentina, Turkey, Lithuania and Latvia. Delegations from Argentina and now, Lithuania, have made reciprocal visits to the United States.
Quotes:
“We were excited to host the delegates from Lithuania, providing them with more information about our state’s legal system as well as one of our areas of expertise in business litigation,” said Jones. “The Attorney Exchange Program provides NCBA members with the great opportunity to learn more about other legal systems around the world, and then return the favor for visiting delegates, fostering positive relationships and an environment conducive to continuous learning and professional growth. It was an honor to be able to visit Lithuania last year, and I am glad to have our firm share in the delegates’ experience in visiting the Triangle.”
