Doug Hunt Presented with Rocky Strickland Community Enhancement Award

Lancaster, MO, May 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Four years ago, Access Self Storage Owner Doug Hunt decided to make a concentrated effort to give back to the communities that his facilities serve. Since that time, Access has been able to change the lives of hundreds through its benefits and partnerships with organizations across the DFW area.

Home of both a storage facility and Access' corporate headquarters, many of those organizations are centered in or work with the city of Lancaster. In the past, both the Lancaster Education Foundation and the Lancaster Outreach Center have recognized the efforts of Access Self Storage and Doug Hunt. In recent addition to these honors, Hunt is also the newest recipient of the Rocky Strickland Community Enhancement Award.

At Saturday evening's annual Lancaster Chamber Awards Banquet and Gala, the business community chose to recognize Hunt's commitment to the Lancaster area and his support of charitable organizations in the city. “I was shocked,” reports Hunt. “I really did not expect it at all.” When asked if the award motivates him to do more, he responded with a laugh and, “Absolutely. Not that we've ever felt that what we were doing was wasted, but it is really nice to have someone else tell us it makes a difference.”
