Los Angeles, CA, May 09, 2013 --(PR.com)-- On April 18, 2013, the Los Angeles Business Journal held its annual Healthcare leadership awards at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, CA.
The Healthcare Leadership Awards recognize individuals and organizations in the city that have excelled as leaders in healthcare delivery and research.
In 2012, Dr A. Shawn Adhami was the only individual to be nominated in two different categories: Life Time Achievement Award and Medical Group CEO Award which he won. In 2013 he was again nominated in that category making him the only individual to have made it as a finalist two years in a row. Dr. Adhami was joined by members of his family, friends and staff.
In 2009, Dr. Adhami - along with his family - founded Vivoderm Natural Skincare, based on his father's lifetime of dermatological research. Dr. Adhami Sr. trusted nature to be the best source of health and nourishment for the skin. He combined his background in medicine, with his experience treating thousands of dermatology patients and passed this knowledge down to his family. A life-changing high school volunteer position at UCLA Hospital Emergency Room opened Dr. Adhami's heart to human suffering and inspired a goal to become a doctor. Many years later, Dr. Adhami continues to honor that experience and offers his time as a volunteer whenever possible.
Alongside managing Vivoderm Natural Skincare, Dr. Adhami is a practicing Internal Medicine physician. He is the founding CEO and Medical Director of Vistasol Medical and Dental group in Montebello as well as Morelia Medical Clinic in El Monte. His skills as a physician has earned him various other awards in the past including: Consumers’ Research Council of America- America’s Top Physicians 2012, Patients’ Choice Award by American Registry in 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2012, Most Compassionate Doctor in 2010, 2011 and 2012, and Healthgrades 5 star doctor in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
In December of 2011, Dr. Adhami was elected as Chief of Staff at Monterey Park Hospital where he has been credited for leading a program that has helped improve patient satisfaction scores at the hospital. Previously he had served in various leadership roles including: Chief of Department of Medicine, Governing Board Member, Treasurer and Chair of Information Resource Management.
