Top Los Angeles Women Celebrated at EmpowHer Institute Girls to Greatness Gala Reception
Honoree recipients were Elise Buik, CEO of United Way, Los Angeles; Dannielle Campos, Senior Vice President of Bank of America; and Penny Toler, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Los Angeles Sparks.
Los Angeles, CA, May 09, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Girls to Greatness Gala Reception was held on Thursday April 25th, 2013 to honor exemplary women for their community work with a PathMaker award, the event, which took place in the Raleigh Studios in Hollywood was put together with the help of the strong involvement of the Empowher Institute volunteers.
The emcees of the evening were Grammy Award winning actress Dawnn Lewis and Actor Phil LaMarr. Honoree recipients were Elise Buik, CEO of United Way, Los Angeles; Dannielle Campos, Senior Vice President of Bank of America; and Penny Toler, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Los Angeles Sparks.
During the event, guests and honorees were treated with entertainment provided by the talented saxophonist Keschia Potter and Quartet. Renowned Los Angeles artists Yuri Yuroz and Mel Davis provided original art pieces to give away as prizes for the silent auction. The art piece by Mel Davis was created for and inspired by the Empowher Institute.
From Valet of the Dolls to Fry Girl donuts and everything in between, the event showcased a strong sense of “girl power.”
“It spoke volumes that volunteers gave up their time to come and help make Girls to Greatness a spectacular event,” said Empowher Institute founder, Betty LaMarr, “We were also proud of our Student Ambassadors who were hostesses along with many of our mentors.”
