New Premium Deep Sand Bed Aragonite Substrate Available for Reef Aquariums

Bowling Green, OH, May 11, 2013 --(PR.com)-- A new deep sand bed substrate, EcoReefDSB, is available from West Mariculture. EcoReefDSB is an aragonite substrate specifically graded to be the optimal size for deep sand beds, based on the work by Dr. Ron Shimek, Ph.D. in his book Deep Sand Bed Secrets. While a deep sand bed can be accomplished with sands of other grain sizes, Dr. Shimek has found that having substrate of a specific size range is optimal for the growth of the most beneficial microfauna, which leads to a healthier deep sand bed. Most sand available is too coarse to fit within these requirements. EcoReefDSB is the only sand on the market that provides substrate specifically graded for this purpose.

EcoReefDSB contains particles of aragonite sand that are much smaller than what is currently available. Most substrates range from .02-2mm. EcoReefDSB aragonite ranges from .065-.125mm. This is the perfect size according to Dr. Shimek.
