Female Volunteers Build a Habitat for Humanity LV Home for National Women Build Week

Las Vegas, NV, May 11, 2013 --(PR.com)-- A construction crew of all female volunteers will pound nails and raise walls at a Habitat build site on Saturday, May 11th, the day before Mother’s Day, in celebration of National Women Build Week. An initiative of Habitat for Humanity International, Women Build challenges women around the country to devote at least one day between May 4 through May 11 to eliminating poverty housing. Underwritten by Lowe’s, the program recruits, educates and nurtures women to build—and advocate for—simple, decent and affordable houses in their communities. The upcoming Saturday build site is located on a parcel of land at the intersection of E. Colton and Brazil in North Las Vegas. The project, while still in its early stages, will eventually house six deserving families, with an estimated completion date of November 2013. All of the homes will be Energy Star and WaterSmart certified. Lowe’s, the underwriter of Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program, is awarding more than $1.3 million to over 250 Habitat affiliates across the United States during National Women Build Week. Approximately 10,000 female volunteers are expected to build at Habitat for Humanity construction sites during this time.
