FrostByte Signs on Headstones; Set to Release "Love + Fury," Their First Studio Album in Ten Years
Toronto, Canada, May 12, 2013 --(PR.com)-- FrostByte Media is excited to have the legendary Headstones sign on as the label’s newest addition to the family, releasing Love + Fury on May 14, 2013, their first studio album in ten years. Albert Zgarka, President of FrostByte Media, stated, “It’s both a great opportunity and an honour to work with a band of this calibre. We are lucky to have them come aboard the FrostByte team. We love the album and can’t wait to release new material to fans across Canada and the world.”
Renowned for their live performance and dominance of Canadian rock radio (15 top ten singles), this multi-platinum band returns with their first studio effort since 2003. While establishing a distinguished career in acting, lead singer Hugh Dillon never strayed far from his rock ‘n’ roll roots. Always writing and performing during the Headstones’ self-imposed hiatus, Dillon decided to get back with the boys – Trent Carr, Tim White and Dale Harrison – and record. The result is Love + Fury, an eagerly anticipated 11-track assault on rock ‘n’ roll.
They’ve included their fans from the very beginning of this project through PledgeMusic, by accepting pledges toward the funding of the new record at their official PledgeMusic site; with pledge items ranging from a digital download of the album, to exclusive t-shirts and jewelry. Within the first 24 hours, they had reached 100% of their goal; as of May 6, they had reached 293%.
Love + Fury is the band’s commitment to rock ‘n’ roll. The first single, “longwaytoneverland,” was already the #1 most added on rock radio in its first week, and is currently #2 on active rock charts, heading for the #1 spot. "Trent wrote the riff for 'longwaytoneverland' and I had the lyrics down in 15 minutes. It came out so naturally," explained Dillon, "Every song on the album is different but equally as intense and equally as honest." Dillon brought in friend Chris Osti to co-produce the new collection with him at both Noble Street Studios and IMPRINT MUSIC in Toronto. Now signed to FrostByte Media, the Headstones will release Love + Fury on May 14th to Canadian physical and digital storefronts, with a 2013 tour to follow in the fall.
