Software Developers from ISG technology Win First Place in NASA’s “Space Apps Challenge” in Bulgaria
Three members of ISG technology’s Software Development team won first place in NASA’s International Space Apps Challenge” with an application solving the Backyard Poultry Farmer challenge.
Egham, United Kingdom, May 16, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The winning team consists of Atanas Keranov, Kiril Nikolov and Pavel Kolev all part of ISG technology’s software development, along with two other team members from outside the Company. The team developed a mobile application for raising chickens.
They will represent Bulgaria in the global finals of NASA’s “Space Apps Challenge” in June 2013.
The competition was held under the patronage of the President of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev, and Bryan Dalton, Deputy Chief of the U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria, who handed out the awards to the winners.
The 48 hour NASA hackathon, held for the first time in Bulgaria, took place at the Telerik Academy with nearly 100 participants divided into 20 teams. Each team developed and presented open source technology solutions to global problems associated with life on Earth and the development of research missions for NASA. The goal of the winner’s application was to help farmers learn how to raise poultry and manage their farms effectively. You can see more about the project here:

The winners of the global final of NASA, determined in June, will attend the launch of the MAVEN space station in November 2013 and will receive practical lessons for space flight.
