MUMC Earns an "A" for Patient Safety from Leapfrog Group

Savannah, GA, May 20, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) was honored with an “A” Hospital Safety ScoreSM by The Leapfrog Group, an independent organization designed to give the public information they can use to protect themselves and their families.

The Hospital Safety Score was calculated using publicly available data on patient injuries, medical and medication errors, and infections. Hospitals across the country were assigned an A, B, C, D, or F for their overall safety.

“Ensuring the safety of our patients is a top priority every day. We host an annual safety fair for our Team Members, we use electronic safeguards to prevent medication errors, and we require many hours of annual training and education.
