Local Teacher Receives Extreme Classroom Makeover: Thirty-One Gifts Style
Tampa, FL, May 22, 2013 --(PR.com)-- In honor of May being Teacher Appreciation Month, local Independent Thirty-One Gifts Senior Executive Director, Courtney Hawkins, is giving away an Extreme Classroom Makeover: Thirty-One Style to local teacher, Mandy Gray.
Gray, a first grade teacher at Northwest Elementary School is the first teacher to receive an Extreme Classroom Makeover: Thirty-One Style! Gray says that this makeover means everything to her. Teachers shop on a budget and do not have a lot of money to go towards classroom organization. Gray prefers allocating money towards the children’s educational needs. However, when a classroom is unorganized, it makes focusing on education difficult. Gray is an organized and professional woman, but she has to make do with what she has. She would love to have her students walk into an organized and functional, “bright and cheery” classroom each day.
Gray has been teaching for six years. Her favorite part about teaching is knowing that she is making tomorrow a better place: one child at a time. She loves inspiring her students and watching them learn things for the first time. Classroom sizes have decreased over the years while the numbers of students per classroom have increased. Gray considers her classroom “creatively cozy…not small.”
Hawkins and Gray met through a Thirty-One party and the two instantly became friends. Gray describes Hawkins as a “wonderful, caring, energetic woman” and feels “blessed to know her.” Gray is excited to see how Hawkins’ phenomenal organizational skills will improve the overall atmosphere and functionality of the classroom.
On Gray’s classroom door she has a message that is simple and clear. “When you enter this classroom you are important, you are loved, you are respected, you are a friend… YOU are the reason I am here!” She encourages her students to always try their best, be kinds to others, use please and thank you, and to always be positive. Such an inspiring message from an inspirational teacher!
Gray’s classroom transformation is scheduled for Thursday May 30.
