Luminary Publishing Acquires New York Real Estate Blog, Upstater

Luminary Publishing, publisher of the popular arts and culture magazine Chronogram, real estate magazine Upstate House, and custom publications throughout the Hudson Valley, recently announced the acquisition of the popular real estate blog, Upstater [Upstater.net].

Kingston, NY, May 23, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Upstater will serve as the digital counterpart to the print publication Upstate House. The blog focuses on real estate for those interested in vacationing, weekending, relocating to, or already living in the Hudson Valley or Catskills areas, but also features articles about culture, nature and news—an insider's guide to life upstate, whether full- or part-time. “The tone is chatty, friendly, from one house-lover to another, but with some expertise to offer,” blog founder Lisa Selin Davis says. Upstate House editor Amara Projansky adds, “The editorial is great. It attracts a loyal readership—a niche market interested in real estate and related topics — with a strong desire to relocate and gain understanding of the culture in the Hudson Valley.”

Upstater will offer several forms of advertising including banner ads, sponsored blog posts, and featured real estate listings, in addition to editorial content. “This is a great opportunity for Hudson Valley advertisers to get their message to a qualified and targeted downstate readership,” Ms. Projansky explains. “It is a complementary new property for us as 75% of its readers are located in the New York City metropolitan area and are looking to relocate, purchase a second home, or renovate.”
